Dear BNI Friends,

Every week Liz and I announce the chapter goals : each member requested to bring 6 referrals and 2 guests per month.  And then we leave it up to you to figure out the rest.  That is probably not too fair, and perhaps it would be better if we gave a bit more focus on reaching those goals.

So let’s make it all about the 10 minute speakers.

Last week Fleur very eloquently told us all about her business. She helps the owners of small businesses do the stuff they are not good at or don’t want to do.  She doesn’t do it for them, but finds a way for them to get it done, either by helping reorganize the existing staff or systems, or identifying new staff or partners for them, using her many years of experience with small businesses.

So which business owners do you know that need a small push to get to the new level, or are looking a bit glum because it is all getting too much for them?  Write down NOW the first couple of names you think of that match that description, and then chat to them to see if they would be interested in meeting Fleur to see how she can help.  That’s a couple of referrals !

Next week we have Ana giving her 10 minute presentation.  She has asked to meet expat wives, perhaps those that have arrived recently when their husbands came with a job.  Or empty nesters who have spent many years raising children but now have more time to devote to themselves or to get back into a career or start a new one (career, not child!).  It’s about women at a stage of life where they need help making an adjustment in their lifestyle.

That is a type of person we don’t often get asked for, so it is a chance to change your thinking about your network a little. Perhaps it is a chance to talk to that new couple that moved in near you.  Or something to bring up when you see the other parents at your kids’ sport event.  Perhaps you know a guy who confides in you that his wife has been giving him a hard time recently and he doesn’t know why.  Surely you know someone that fits in there???

Let’s see a packed room of people furiously scribbling on referral slips next Thursday!

Please remember to pay this month’s breakfast fee if you have not done so already. The following breakfast fees are calculated according to the average number of meetings per month until the end of the term being 30 Sept:

For existing members: $625 (average for the period 1April – 30 Sept)
For newly joined members from 1st June: $637 (average for period 1st June to 30 Sept)
New members joining from next month: $650 (average for period 1 July to 30 Sept)

For members renewing please remember to bring a cheque to our meeting this Thursday.
